Trek Stache with BBSHD. This is the second bike I’ve done that had a PF92 bottom bracket (larger diameter frame tube than what the motor was designed to slide into). It requires some special adapter parts to make it work, but the motor bolts in securely and performs well. A 30t “Mighty Mini” chain ring from Luna Cycle was used for high torque.
Hi, I would like to do a similar build with a Trek Stache 7. May I ask which adapter you used to convert the PF92? Also, considering that the BB length is +/-95mm, did you use a 100mm BBSHD?

Yes, the standard 68-72mm BBS02/HD will not work past that range, so 100mm was used. I had a custom adapter sleeve machined and used giant washers from McMaster-Carr or Grainger to get it to clamp tight to the frame. LunaCycle.com and EmpoweredCycles.com have great info, and possibly ready made adapters now. Good luck!

Thanks a lot, much appreciated! I feel more confident now to tackle this.

Hi. Nice bike.
This is the only finished buld i have found online. You chose a 30t chainring for torque. The bbshd stock chain ring is 46t.
Is there rom for a bigger chainring?

Hi,
I don’t remember if there was more room or not. I can’t tell from the picture.
Sorry!
