For a fun historical read try electricbike.com's "The Strange Saga of Tidalforce". I was told by someone involved with the project that it's "mostly" true. I can tell you this much: at 44V, this nearly 20lb motor will push you up to 28mph smoothly, silently and remain at near ambient temperature all day long. That front black hub is the stock battery that anyone owning one of these should quickly replace in favor of any common 36v-44v pack.

Nice early eBikes these Tidalforces….BTW, you can go to 46v (11s) charged and still be safe! After of course you loose the front NiMH hub and install the jumper in the dash. Though you really want to stay with the X version only! 🙂

I’ve got 9 of these American made electric bikes, and 17 of the EVG ebikes!
