A daily commuter. My second ride with a rectangle pack cradled in a V frame. Not as good a solution as a triangle pack in a triangle frame, but it at least gets the weight centered.

A semi-early adopter of the 48 volt, 25 amp BBS-02, this bike handled pretty well at 25mph.

20ah really lets you get lost a bit and worry later about what path you'll take home... At 38v and peaking around 1,200w this bike was good for extended 20mph afternoon excursions.

Aside from commuting, a light EV is great for exploring and discovering places close to home you may drive by ten times a week.

Here, bike v2.0 is still using the Heinzmann motor, but now is fed by a 20ah A123 LiFePO pack (which would soon be relocated mid frame).

Clean & Cool

EV’s are the future. They are also the past and the present. Electric vehicles preceded those powered by internal combustion, and they are driven today by people all over the world. With this site I hope to share my love of electric transportation with others. In a world of vanishing resources and ever increasing demand, we seriously need to end our addiction to fossil fuel. EV’s are clean, and EV’s are cool. And if that electric vehicle can weigh less than it’s user, serious efficiency gains can be realized. So light electric vehicles are the place to start… Welcome to HandBuiltEV.images
